Under the slogan "A better environment for the next generation," we will proactively engage in environmental conservation activities, aiming to achieve harmony between "Economic Development" and "An environment in which we can live in harmony with nature".
Environmental purpose・Environmental goals
The issue of global warming is one of the most important environmental problems that affects the very foundation of human existence, given the magnitude and severity of its expected impact.
Current global emissions are more than twice the amount absorbed by the natural world, and the average global temperature at the end of this century is expected to rise between 1.8°C and 4.0°C compared to 1980 to 1999.
Since obtaining ISO 14001 environmental management system certification in May 2001, we have been actively working on global environmental protection with the participation of all employees.
The Global Environmental Protection Committee, established in 1992, is furthered by five subcommittees, each of which sets annual targets for energy and resource conservation, resource conservation I and II, environmentally friendly products, and environmental improvements, with the aim of creating a recycling-oriented society.
|Environmental Targets for
Fiscal Year 2019
|1.Development and Design of Environmentally Friendly Products||Improvement in product development environment improvement rate
Improvement in the number of improvement items
|2.Reducing CO2 emissions through effective use of energy consumption||Reduction of CO2 emissions per unit of production (t/billion yen) (CO2 emissions per 100 million yen of in-house production output)||42.0|
|3.Reducing Waste||Reduction in waste per unit of production (t/billion yen) (amount of waste per 100 million yen of in-house production output)||5.00|
|4.Reduction of valuable emissions||Reduction in the amount of valuable emissions per unit of production (t/billion yen) (amount of valuable materials per 100 million yen of in-house production output)||14.9|
|5: Reduction of water consumption per unit of production||Reduction in water consumption per unit of production (t/billion yen) (water consumption per 100 million yen of in-house production output)||205.0|
|6.Reduction of main and sub materials||Improvement in reduction of main materials (t)
Improvement in reduction of sub materials (t)
|7.Reducing CO2 emissions from logistics||Reduction of CO2 emissions from transportation (t/billion yen) (CO2 emissions from transportation per 100 million yen in sales)||57.8|
|8.Reduction of packaging material usage||Reduction of packaging materials (t/ 100 million yen) (amount of packaging materials generated per 100 million yen in sales)||14.9|
Environmental Conservation Activities
The company is developing internal initiatives for global warming prevention, pollution prevention, resource conservation, waste reduction and proper management of chemical substances, mainly through special committees.
In order to further improve the effectiveness of our efforts, all employees are actively involved in these activities.
1.Measures to prevent global warming
We are working to reduce CO2 emissions, mainly through energy-saving activities.
2.Pollution Prevention Measures
We have established our own standards, which are stricter than legal standards for water quality, air quality, noise and vibration, odors, and other factors, and we regularly measure them to ensure proper management.
3.Measures to save resources
We are working from the product design and development stage to reduce the size and the number of parts used.
We are also working to reduce the size of our products and the number of parts used.
Waste is sorted appropriately for reuse and recycling. In addition, we are striving to properly manage the waste generated by our operations by means of electronic manifests and confirmation of disposal sites. In addition, we make every effort to properly manage our waste by using electronic manifests and confirming disposal sites.
5.Appropriate Management of Chemical Substances
We use SDSs to check the impact of the chemical substances we handle on the environment and human health, and handle them appropriately while complying with the relevant laws and regulations.Corporate Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) are used to confirm the impact of the chemical substances we handle on the environment and human health.
